TV music ads like the famous Estrella Damm which runs their 5th year of "Mediterraneament" makes us think there is such thing as stretching a theme too much. The plus side of it, the contra campaign San Miguel is doing for third year now just makes it fun to see which one is better.
If you'd ask me, I much prefer the sponsorisations both beer brands are doing of music and arts movements during the summer; much more direct to their final consumer and also way more interesting (See San Miguel Primavera Sound and Rec Stores by Estrella Damm).
Another thing I'm getting quite tired of seeing every summer are the perfect unrealistic bodies of celebrities under 15 layers of Photoshop. I guess it does sell bikinis, but it is all a bit too much for me. I like it simple, like a fun pineapple looking all cool with it's pineapple glasses to promote healthy summer eating.
New this summer will be the smartphones campagins, directed to our pockets, and with all the info of our "likes", "shares", and "follows". Still trying to decide whether it scares me or amazes me.
And to wrap this summer ad, my favorite summer campaign so far: Coca-Cola's ice bottle. Could you think of something more clever AND shocking? Maybe if you split it... yep, they did that too.
Cold Coke for two please!
